Remove Chrome Extensions
The following article will guide you through removing an extension from the Google Chrome browser. If you begin experiencing random pop-up ads while using Chrome, it may be caused by a malicious ad-ware extension. Often after we remove these extensions, the pop-ups cease.
Some extensions are managed by the district and cannot be removed by either of these methods. There will be no option to remove or disable them in the extension menu.
Method 1
If you can see the extension icon in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser, simply right click the icon and select “Remove from Chrome…”. Then confirm your choice by clicking “Remove” one more time in the pop up menu that appears.
Method 2
If you cannot see the extension icon, click on the 3 vertical dots icon in the upper right corner, navigate down to and hover over “More Tools”, then click on “Extensions”. This will open the extensions menu.
In the extensions menu, navigate to the extension you’d like to remove and click “Remove”. Confirm your choice by selecting “Remove” again in the pop up menu that appears.
