Identify Your Computer's Service & Asset Tags
The following article will help you identify the Dell service tag (serial number) and Simpson County asset tag on your district computer.
Dell Service Tag
The Dell service tag is usually located on the back / bottom of laptops or the top / side of desktops. Newer models have a black tag with white text. Older models may have a white tag with black text.
Our district consists mostly of Dell devices, however the serial number of other manufacturers can be found in a similar location on similar tags.
Simpson County Asset Tag
The Simpson County asset tag is usually located next to the Dell service tag.
If you don’t see one or both of these tags on your device, either the tags have been torn off (common) or it is not a district owned device.
